PMMA Injectable Filler

PMMA is an injectable substance used nowadays for buttocks augmentation as well as hips bilateral expansion. It is composed of 30% microspheres of polymethylmethacrilate suspended in 70% biologically inert substance (also called vehicle or vector).

Actual active principle (polymethylmethacrilate microspheres) should not exceed 120-150 cc in each side; however the final volume obtained is the sum of collagen and elastic fibers formed around PMMA microspheres plus the conducting substance hence substantially larger than the initial 120-150 cc.

Due to the fact PMMA is classified as a soft injectable tissue implant as well as its remarkable expansive properties, this revolutionary procedure also known as bioplasty or Brazilian butt lift has already become the ideal non surgical solution women and men are seeking for their lack of gluteal volume.

Bioplasty by PMMA offers immediate permanent results, does not involve pain although some bruises and a mild inflammatory process could be considered totally normal, substance is non reabsorbable with no side effects.

Bioplasty should be performed under strict medical standards to avoid any possible contamination; unfortunately many unknown substances are being injected in beauty salons, offices and hotels by unqualified people thus becoming very damgerous. As a reputable medical institution, we utilize only first class injectable substances to secure our patients’ safety.

Blunt tipped microcannulae and specially designed devices for infiltration are needed for the process. No general anesthesia nor sedation is needed except a very small amount of local anesthesia. In occasions and for the security of a patient having to travel to another country, we like using one suture stitch in each side mainly to avoid any substance loss. These couple of stitches may be removed back at home after 4 or 5 days.

We wish clarifying to the general public that PMMA is not the same than Hydrogel: they are entirely different products. The most common hydrogel used worldwide was the Chinese version (Amazingel) which when banned due to serious health problems caused, left a big void in the market. Russian and Danish versions (Argiform and Aquamid) could never take the place of Amazingel in terms of affordable prices due to their prohibitive costs for large injected volumes; hence PMMA becomes the only available substitute, not only in terms of affordable prices but with nothing but successful medical records behind it.
