Fat Grafting (Brazilian butt lift)

There are so many confusing proposals around that patients must be very accurate in their investigations before taking a decision on this subject.

In general terms, when seeking for butt enhancement, people wish obtaining noticeable and permanent results; however autologous fat transplant or fat grafting does not normally fulfill these purposes. Unless patient has a fair amount of very rich quality fat, grafts may stand a chance to produce some changes, still some of the transplanted fat is to suffer resorption.

Because fatty tissues are live cells, lots of blood irrigation is required for them to survive (seating earlier than one month after procedure will prevent blood flow causing fat grafts death). Furthermore, one should realize that 30-40% of transplanted fat is bound to be reabsorbed, which does not occur symmetrically thus irregularities, lumps and indented areas may appear.

Density, consistency and firmness of fatty tissues are not appropriate to create a satisfactory projection being that fat is a very soft substance.

Fat grafting (when there is fat to be removed) can only be recommended to even out small depressions in the surface of the skin, but as to achieve significant butt volume, really does not work satisfactorily.

Unfortunately people have been driven into believing that fat transfer could do marvels; common belief is: the more fat you have in any specific area, the easier it will be to have it transferred to any other part of your body. This is totally wrong.

Many doctors claim to have developed a drop by drop fat infiltration technique to make sure fat will not die, nor be reabsorbed later on; unfortunately in the majority of cases, these are just great promises.

In our opinion fat transfer is a non lasting procedure and does not really offer satisfactory results. People's own fat does not have the consistency to achieve volume, firmness and roundness and even worse, such procedure is bound to suffer resorption, leaving treated areas with a very deficient aesthetics.

Only small indented areas could be filled with your own fat and to expect more than this is just not realistic at all.

If you really like the appearance of well developed buttocks and also are looking for a permanent buttocks enhancement, no doubt your best option will be Bioplasty by PMMA injectable tissular filler.
